Unlike EXIT, the board game "The Awakening" is not about finishing the game as quickly as possible. Instead, the focus is on a gripping and dark backstory: the single father Sam must watch as his 14-year-old daughter Lizzy falls into a coma. In his desperation, Sam decides to save his daughter with a sinister ritual. Players solve puzzles, combine various items, and repeatedly make decisions that significantly alter the story and the outcome of the game. There are seven different endings possible for the story.
