Each player has a game board and 12 pieces in front of them. Players roll the dice and flip the hourglass. Everyone tries to cover their board as quickly as possible with the given pieces. Whoever succeeds shouts "Ubongo" and is rewarded with gemstones. The winner is the one who has collected the most valuable gemstones at the end. And it’s not necessarily the fastest player! The game is so much fun that even after the hourglass runs out, unsuccessful players continue to puzzle with the help of their teammates until they solve their board. The rules are so simple that you can start playing right away.

Now the classic Ubongo has even more to offer: An optional explanation app can be used to explain the rules. And if you get stuck on a task, the app provides hints for solutions. Thanks to the "living timer," which can replace the hourglass, players automatically know when the time for placing is up. Additionally, two time settings can be adjusted, so for example, adults have less time than the participating children.
