Give your old Recon an upgrade. If you want to see what more you can get out of your old Recon, you should try a tuning spring. The tuning spring for the Recon is slightly weaker than our usual springs to protect the mechanics of this model. Nevertheless, there is enough power for a significant range boost.

Performance features of the tuning spring for the Nerf N-Strike Recon:

• Equivalent spring mass: 5kg
• Range increase: approx. 90%
• Increase in muzzle velocity: approx. 80%
• Installation difficulty: moderate

The trick with the hole: Ideally, replacing the spring can be done through the hole under the end cap. This way, you save yourself from having to open the blaster completely, and the mechanics stay where they belong. First, remove the end cap and the screws in the rear area of the blaster, so you can gently lift the casing in the back with a screwdriver. Carefully remove the main spring by pulling or twisting it out through the rear hole. This keeps all parts in position. Then, slide the tuning spring in the same manner over the orange cylinder. Check if the cylinder lock (square ring with a small spring) moves smoothly. After that, screw the end cap back on, check the blaster for functionality, and tighten the casing screws by hand. We particularly recommend not removing the air restrictor on the Nerf N-Strike Recon, as it protects the internal mechanics.
