The enchanted diary had many abilities because a part of Tom Riddle was truly embedded within it. It could gain the trust of the person writing in the diary, subjugate them to Riddle's will, allow them to act on his behalf, and ultimately even drain their life force to transfer it to Riddle.

Tom, who later became Lord Voldemort, made his diary one of his Horcruxes, which Harry Potter had to destroy.

The diary offers plenty of space for your entries and notes, which you must, of course, write yourself. It features a soft black leather cover and parchment-colored pages. The corners are reinforced with metal embellishments.
