The model is a replica of the Panzerwerfer 42 auf SWS. The heavy Wehrmacht tractor (SWS) was developed as a medium half-track and was used to transport supplies to front-line troops or as a towing vehicle for light artillery. However, several other applications were developed for the large flat cargo area at the back. One modification was the Panzerwerfer 42 auf SWS, a 15 cm Nebelwerfer 42 rocket launcher with 10 tubes, which was fired from a compartment for armored ammunition. Originally designed as a device for creating smoke screens, the rocket launcher was soon used as actual artillery, capable of firing high-explosive ammunition. It could launch rockets with impressive and deadly effect.
