The Pokémon Company International has also unveiled several improvements to the card design that will be implemented with the Scarlet & Violet expansion. The yellow borders of Pokémon TCG cards will turn grey to match the cards released in Japan, allowing for a more seamless Pokémon TCG experience worldwide and making the card design stand out even more. In addition, subcategories for Trainer cards, such as Supporter, Item, and Stadium, will appear in the upper left corner to be more visible in players' hands. Basic Energy cards will display another Energy icon in the lower right corner to make tracking easier during the game, and the Expansion icons will be replaced by Expansion codes and language codes on all cards. One of the 2 different models will be randomly selected: Arctibax or Ceita. It is not possible to choose.
