Azul Game

Azulejos – originally, they were white and blue ceramic tiles brought to Europe by the Moors. They gained fame and popularity in Portugal after King Manuel I visited southern Spain. The king was captivated by the stunning beauty of the Moorish decorations in the Alhambra Palace and, impressed by them, immediately commissioned similar tiles to adorn his palace in Portugal.

In Azul, you take on the role of an artist and arrange beautiful mosaics of Azulejos on the walls of the royal palace in Évora.

During the round, each player selects tiles from one of the supplier workshops and places them in their storage. Then, all players simultaneously – in a strictly defined manner – move the collected tiles to the wall of the palace. After placing the tiles on the wall, points are counted. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
