To celebrate the 175th anniversary of the railway in Switzerland, ROCO presents a special edition of the Re 10/10 locomotive set in a commemorative design. The locomotives, painted in the green SBB livery, were adorned with decorative stripes and emblems. The double traction consisting of the Re 4/4 and Re 6/6 is referred to as Re 10/10 for simplicity. This name derives from the ten powered axles that the double set possesses and does not refer to a specific locomotive type. The Re 10/10 is used by SBB almost exclusively for heavy freight trains on the Gotthard line. This powerful duo can handle the required maximum load of 1,400 tons at the coupler while traveling at 80 kilometers per hour on a gradient of 26 promille.
