Product details
The Rolls Royce Armoured Car was a British light armoured vehicle, created from the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost car in 1914. An 8mm armoured body was installed on top of the passenger car's chassis, while its armament consisted of a Vickers machine gun in a rotating turret. Armoured cars of this type were widely used during World War I, mainly in the colonies of the British Empire, in the Middle East and North Africa. In the European theatre, it had limited operational use due to the nature of warfare at that time. These armoured cars were used as police vehicles against civilian populations during the rebellion in 1916 in Ireland. After World War I, the Rolls Royce Armoured Car remained in British colonial service for a long time, receiving several improvements.
