The domestic pig is descended from the wild boar. Through breeding, around 70 different breeds have emerged worldwide in various colors.

Pigs are usually pink and have bristly hair, but depending on the breed, they can also be brown, black, or spotted. They are often thought to be dirty animals because they enjoy rolling in the mud. In reality, they are simply giving themselves a cooling mud bath in hot weather, much like elephants do. Additionally, the mud protects them from insect bites. Some people even keep pigs as pets because they are very peaceful, sensitive, social, curious, and intelligent.
