The display model is a replica of the Tirpitz, which posed a constant threat to Allied convoys. The Allies expended considerable resources to eliminate the sister ship of the Bismarck. Ultimately, the Tirpitz was bombed by the Royal Air Force, leading to its sinking. The differences from its sister ship are detailed in the TAMIYA model kit, with the four torpedo tubes being characteristic of the Tirpitz.
