Biotène products contain a unique enzyme system made up of three enzymes and a protein that are also naturally present in saliva: lactoperoxidase and glucose oxidase (protection against microorganisms), lysozyme (destroys bacteria by breaking down their cell walls), and lactoferrin (prevents bacterial growth).
