Bite away® neo alleviates itching, swelling, and redness caused by insect stings and bites, effectively breaking the itch-scratch cycle. It is helpful for insect stings and bites, such as those from wasps, horseflies, hornets, mosquitoes, and contact with marine animals like jellyfish and scorpionfish. The application of short, concentrated heat to a small area of skin offers a gentle option. It is believed that this can influence various signaling pathways and thus immune and inflammatory responses. Additionally, regulating the release of histamine and degrading enzymes can dampen inflammatory reactions and inactivate insect venoms. Even with delayed application after an insect sting, itching can be quickly and effectively stopped. An integrated microprocessor generates temperatures around 51 °C, which are maintained for either 3 or 5 seconds, depending on the setting. Bite away® neo is placed with the ceramic contact surface on the sting or bite. After pressing one of the two buttons once, a temperature around 51 °C is reached and held for the selected time. The application can be repeated as needed. The device works purely physically: Bite away® neo can be used by allergy sufferers, pregnant women, and children. Children aged 12 and older can also operate and use Bite away® neo independently. The skin is not damaged during the short application duration.
