Floome measures blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and presents the results instantly on your smartphone. An app from the manufacturer is available for both iOS and Android. Before using Floome for the first time, you need to answer a few questions about your gender, height, and weight so that the app can better calculate your BAC and the time needed for your body to metabolize it. The country setting also establishes the legal blood alcohol limit for driving. Floome operates without batteries; simply plug it into the headphone jack of your smartphone and blow into the rotatable mouthpiece. In addition to the BAC value, a red screen indicates when the legal limit has been exceeded. The app then provides the recommended waiting time for your body to process the alcohol and return to below the legal limit. A statistics feature gives an overview of the measured alcohol levels. Floome uses the same sensor as official police measuring devices and offers a BAC accuracy of 0.075‰.
