In a healthy vagina, an acidic environment provides natural protection against infections. The acidification of the vaginal milieu with lactic acid supports the growth of the typical "good" lactobacilli, which essentially make up the vaginal flora. At the same time, the acidification slows down the proliferation of "pathogenic" pathogens. Therefore, lactic acid can be used preventively in cases of recurrent vaginal infections.
Vagisan Lactic Acid are vaginal suppositories that contain a mixture of lactic acid and sodium lactate. They are used to maintain and restore a natural acidity level (pH value) in the vagina, which normally ranges from 3.8 to 4.4.
With Vagisan Lactic Acid, a quick and effective acidification of the vaginal environment occurs, aligning with the normal pH value of the vagina. This also quickly "captures" alkaline bodily fluids such as blood or semen, which have a pH value above 7.

Instructions for use | Insert a vaginal suppository as deeply as possible into the vagina in the evening before going to bed. The vaginal suppository can be inserted more easily if it is moistened under running water beforehand. The use of a panty liner/pad is recommended, as the particularly good solubility of the vaginal suppositories can lead to increased discharge. The duration of use is generally 5-7 days. Vagisan Lactic Acid can also be used over a longer period 2-3 times a week (one vaginal suppository in the evening). |
