Question about Braun ThermoScan 7+

After a year of use, my Braun Thermo Scan 7 always shows a temperature of over 40 degrees. We have always used the protective caps and I have also carefully cleaned the sensor with cotton buds as recommended. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or what I can do about it?

In all probability, our little device also shows clearly incorrect readings, and always too high. If 2 old 30-year-old thermometers and an older electronic device all show about 1...1.5 degrees less than the Thermo Scan 7, then there is something wrong with the Thermo Scan 7. We therefore only use the Thermo Scan 7 to quickly determine whether the temperature has gone down or up. But you can't take absolute measurements with the device. The question remains as to why the Thermo Scan 7 has done so well in all the various product tests?

I am still using this appliance without any problems and cannot make any sense of the 40 °C you measured - sorry.
