The in naming of the two is quite confusing. The only difference is the color though. The Philips Water Duschfilter is white, whereas the Philips AWP1775CH is silver.

As for the filter itself, I bought mine only very recently but haven't felt any noticeable difference yet. Like we say though; "Wänns nüt nützt, schadts au nöd" (it won't do any harm either)
