The COIL R1 is undoubtedly one of the most popular models in our range. This is evidenced by the various special editions that have emerged in recent years with our partners around the world. One reason for the popularity of the COIL R1 is its shape. The wedge-shaped forefoot area is very sharp and a true feast for the eyes. This, along with the emphasis on the toe spring in the forefoot area, makes the heart of every sneakerhead race. Another reason for its popularity is the multi-layered design of the upper material, which offers great design options in terms of colors and materials. In this COIL R1 OG, several panels of varying sizes made of soft suede are placed on a mesh base. A third material comes into play with the heel tab. We have used a reflective 3M material that is color-coordinated with the color of the lining. In the heel area, directly above the midsole, there is a stabilizer that wraps around the entire heel. This technology was developed to provide the foot with perfect lateral stability - crucial for a running silhouette like this, even back in the 1980s. The patented DYNACOIL cushioning system in the midsole and the Ortholite insole make the wearing comfort of the COIL R1 OG very pleasant. An abrasion-resistant rubber outsole ensures good grip and pleasant durability. Of course, the original secret pocket KangaROOS is located on the inside of the tongue. For the production of the COIL R1 OG, we use at least 32% recycled material as part of our transition to greater sustainability.
