Garmin vs. Huawei: Become a reader tester for fitness trackers

Together with the tech magazine TechStage, Galaxus is calling for reader tests. Apply by 25 August 2020 and test the Garmin Vivoactive 4 and Huawei Watch GT 2 Sport fitness trackers. As a little goodie, you get to keep one of the two watches.

Test reports show whether a product is good or not. We do this almost every day in the editorial teams at Galaxus and TechStage. But who would be better suited as a tester than the people who might end up buying the product?

In cooperation with the tech portal TechStage, we are now carrying out reader tests. This means that you will receive one or two products from us and then put them through their paces.

We start with fitness trackers: you compare a high-priced Garmin Vivoactive 4 with a Huawei Watch GT 2 Sport. Can both trackers do the same thing? What are the differences? Are the watches good for fitness, work, style & Co. We'll answer these and other questions you may have.

How to take part

Produce a video by 25 August 2020. Show us in around 60 seconds why you are the ideal reader tester: Do you enjoy swimming, climbing or going to the gym? What excites you about sport and why is health important to you? Upload the video as a comment to the article on TechStage's Facebook page by 25 August 2020.

On 26 August 2020, we will announce five winners of the reader tests on techstage.de and Facebook. You will then be contacted via direct message on Facebook. We will then send you the devices.

Please remember: To take part, you must be at least 18 years old and live in Germany.

How to test

First of all, we want to know how you like the look and feel of the devices. Is the workmanship good? Does everything feel good? Are the accessories satisfactory? For this purpose, you will provide us with a short video (2 to 3 minutes) within 14 days - a kind of reader unboxing. Let your creativity run wild! The watches should fit in with everyday life, whether it's a building site, supermarket, running track or hip fashion café.

You then have another 14 days to get an impression of the devices. Then send us a short video (2 to 3 minutes) about your impression and five to ten pictures of the products in your everyday life. A little tip: Feel free to challenge the devices, take them with you on a mountain hike or for a swim; whatever you like to do.

All five reader tests, pictures and videos are presented in one article on TechStage and Galaxus. This way, all our readers can find out what the devices are really good for.

At a glance

So let's briefly summarise once again:

Have we convinced you? Then upload your "application" for the fitness tracker reader test to Facebook by 25 August 2020.

When I was but a young student, I'd sit in my friend's living room with all my classmates and play on his SuperNES. Since then I've had the opportunity to test out all the newest technology for you. I've done reviews at Curved, Computer Bild and Netzwelt, and have now arrived at Galaxus.de.
