Load up and start shooting: "Call of Duty: WWII" arrives on Friday

created on 1.11.2017

No more sci-fi: "Call of Duty: WWII" returns to its roots and swaps jetpacks for combat boots and energy rifles for machine guns.

World war shooters are back in fashion. After practically every first-person shooter at the turn of the millennium was set in the Second World War, "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" triggered a new trend in modern shooters. From then on, the battlefields were no longer Normandy or Stalingrad, but Afghanistan and Iraq. The 14th instalment of the series takes another U-turn and brings the Allies and the Wehrmacht out of retirement. "Call of Duty: WWII" throws itself into the trenches, slows down the pace a little and returns to its old strengths.

The game is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, who last worked on "Advanced Warfare" and before that on "Modern Warfare 3". In "Call of Duty: WWII" you can look forward to an epic campaign, which will once again feature action-packed vehicle passages. Long-term motivation is provided by the tried-and-tested multiplayer mode, which features new game modes. Instead of creating your own classes, you can choose from five divisions: Infantry, the all-rounders, Airborne, the airborne troops, Armoured, the armoured, Mountain, the snipers and Expeditionary, the pyromaniacs. Zombie mode is also back in the game, including a co-op option.

So, what are you waiting for? Get the new "Call of Duty: WWII" and throw yourself into the fray.
