The "Duo" series from Zwiesel Glas wins the German Design Award 2024

This year, the award goes to wine glasses that are made partly by hand and partly by machine.
The "Duo" series from Zwiesel Glas has just won the German Design Award. The jury explained its decision as follows: "The design of the Duo stemware series from Zwiesel Glas combines elegant, timeless design language and sophisticated functionality, turning wine enjoyment into an experience".
Made by hand and machine
The special thing about "Duo": According to Zwiesel Glas, both craftsmanship and machine work are used during production. The stem of the glass is drawn by hand and the drinking vessel is made by machine. The company calls this manufacturing process a hybrid glass series. According to the press release, it is also a reason for the award.
About the award
