Thinner than many of its competitors: The slim Galaxy S25 Edge offers a 6.7-inch OLED, the latest connectivity and a main camera with 200 megapixels.

Is your current smartphone too heavy or bulky? Then it's worth taking a look at the new Galaxy S25 Edge from Samsung. It is a lightweight and powerful smartphone. The only drawback is the battery.

Design, display and performance

The Galaxy S25 Edge immediately catches the eye with its extreme form factor. At just 5.8 millimetres thick (without camera bump), it is one of the thinnest devices on the market. It weighs just 161 grams. The housing is made of titanium and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and is protected against water and dust in accordance with IP68.

The 6.7-inch display uses Samsung's Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology with a resolution of 3120 × 1440 pixels. The screen offers a maximum brightness of 2600 nits and a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120 hertz. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite for Galaxy is at work inside. It is supported by 12 gigabytes of LPDDR5x RAM. The internal memory is 256 or 512 gigabytes depending on the model, is based on UFS 4.0 technology and is not expandable.

Camera, battery and more

Samsung has installed a main camera with 200 megapixels and an aperture of f/1.7. The sensor measures 1/1.3 inches and uses pixel binning to create bright 12-megapixel images. There is also an ultra-wide-angle module with 12 megapixels and a front camera with 12 megapixels. Both have autofocus. Samsung has dispensed with a telephoto lens. Videos can be recorded in 8K at 30 frames per second and even played back in 8K at 60 fps.

At 3900 mAh, the battery of the Galaxy S25 Edge is below average. In normal use, the capacity should be sufficient for around one day. More is rarely possible with active use. Samsung offers wired charging with up to 25 watts. This means a full charge takes around 80 minutes. Wireless charging is possible with 15 watts, reverse charging with 10 watts. Samsung does not include a power adapter and only includes a USB-C to USB-C cable.

In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy S25 Edge supports all current standards: WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and Ultra Wideband. The USB-C port is designed as version 3.2. Dual SIM operation including eSIM is also supported. You can unlock the Samsung using your face or the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display. The device runs Android 15 with OneUI 7.0 and Samsung guarantees seven years of software updates.
