"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt": Next-Gen version to be released on 14 December
CD Projekt plans to release the revised version of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" in December for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X and PC. Owning the base game is enough to receive the update.
The next-gen version of the third Witcher game, originally released in 2015, has been a long time coming. First the release date was postponed several times - presumably also because of difficulties with "Cyberpunk 2077". And then in April this year, the development studio switched from Saber Interactive back to client CD Projekt. . That was followed by the info that the update would be released in the fourth quarter of 2022. Now there is a concrete date: Wednesday, 14 December, the update is to be released. The exact improvements over the original version are not yet known. CD Projekt plans to show more about this, and what the gameplay of the next-gen version will look like, in the coming week.
All those who own a game version for PC, Playstation 4 or Xbox One will receive the update free of charge. It does not matter whether it is a basic version or the Complete Edition. The new version includes the main game and all DLC packages. On top of that, there are new items that come from the Netflix series for the game. You can expect nicer graphics and ray tracing effects. On consoles, loading times are said to have been improved to the point where they are almost as good as on a powerful PC. . The new items and the content improvements are also to be added later for the original version - i.e. for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. However, a release date for this is not yet known.
