The best «Kingsman» quote
In your opinion, which one's the best «Kingsman» quote?
«Another Life» is Netflix’s attempt at a new and unusual combination that could work. «Dora and the Lost City of Gold» is like «Indiana Jones» for kids. But my favourite trailer of the week is the «Kingsman» prequel.
«Manners maketh man». The origin of this proverb is often said to be in the writings of William Horman, a man who lived between 1440 and 1535. Quite a while back.
481 years later, Colin Firth repeated these words in «Kingsman». In one of the greatest pub fights of all time. Decency and manners. Followed by a thrashing. That's why I love this movie. And the origin of the «Kingsman» mythology is hitting our cinema screens in 2020. Finally. Find the first official teaser trailer below.
A mysterious alien artefact lands on Earth. While Commander Niko Breckinridge (Katee Sackhoff) leads mankind's first interstellar mission to the original planet of the artefact, her husband (Justin Chatwin) tries to make first contact on Earth.
This movie seems like a combination of Robert Zemecki's «Contact» and David Villeneuve’s «Arrival» – two of my all-time favourites. Starring Katee Sackhoff known from «Battlestar Galactica». Oh, Netflix. How have I ever been able to live without you?
Start date: 25 July 2019, Netflix
Do you know the incredibly annoying Nickelodeon children series «Dora the Explorer»? It’s about a little girl named Dora, who for some reason lives in the jungle where she spends her days exploring and encouraging viewers to repeat random things she says.
Well, Dora is a little older now, explores the city, goes to high school and is no longer an animated but a real-life character. And then she returns to the jungle. For some strange reason. And she takes her new city friends with her. For some even stranger reasons. Oh and Danny Trejo voices a CGI monkey. This just doesn’t make any sense!
Release date in Swiss cinemas: 29 August 2019
Remember that scene in «Kingsman» when Harry «Galahead» Hart (Colin Firth) explains to young Gary «Eggsy» Unwin (Taron Egerton) how the Kingsman were founded?
«Since 1849, Kingsman Tailors have clothed the world's most powerful individuals. In 1919, a great number of them had lost their heirs to World War I. That meant a lot of money going uninherited. And a lot of powerful men with the desire to preserve peace and protect life. Our founders realized that they could channel that wealth and influence for the greater good. A suit is the modern gentleman's armour. And the Kingsman agents are the new knights.»
That’s a rough summary of the prequel to «The King’s Man». Unfortunately without Colin Firth or Taron Egerton, but with Ralph Fiennes. And – as with the first two Kingsman films – Matthew Vaughn is the director. Sounds like we’re in for a treat, doesn’t it?

I'm an outdoorsy guy and enjoy sports that push me to the limit – now that’s what I call comfort zone! But I'm also about curling up in an armchair with books about ugly intrigue and sinister kingkillers. Being an avid cinema-goer, I’ve been known to rave about film scores for hours on end. I’ve always wanted to say: «I am Groot.»
