Netflix has released the final «The Witcher» and a «Dracula» series by the «Sherlock» creators. And then there's «Antlers» – yuck! My favourite? The «New Pope» trailer with his holy boxers.

It's Star Wars week: only four days to go until the Skywalker saga will end. If you can't wait any longer – like me – I have a little treat for you at the very end of this article.

For everyone else: here are the best trailers of last week.

The Witcher

Don’t touch Roach.

Nuff said.

Start date: 20 December 2019, Netflix

Dracula

This is a classic teaser: It doesn’t give away the story, but introduces the mood of the movie. Creepy. The nail scene... Ew! Or the fly in the eye... Gross!

The creative minds behind the «Dracula» series also produced BBC’s «Sherlock». This makes a lot of sense, as the bloodthirsty Count Dracula (Claes Bang) is said to have cast his thirsty glance Victorian London of the late 18th century.

Start date: 4 January 2020, Netflix

The New Pope

I really liked the last teaser of this obviously wicked and sinful pope series. The new trailer only gives a tiny bit more away. That’s good.

What we know so far is that «The New Pope» is about two popes that aren’t holy at all and who are fighting a leadership battle. One of them is John Malkovich, the new pope. The other is Jude Law, the old but much younger Pope. He's just awaking from a coma – the reason why he lost the throne. The best scene of the trailer, in my opinion, is when the court photographer ends the first photo shoot with the new pope. «That’s it, holy father. We are done». To which the new pope answers: «C’mon, no nudes?»

The Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino directed and wrote the scripts – just like in 2016 with «The Young Pope»,, which functions as season 1. Essentially. «The New Pope» sees itself as a spin-off, although it continues the story of «The Young Pope» from the point of view of another character.

Start date: 13 January 2020, HBO

Antlers

I found the first Antlers trailer scary enough. This one is even scarier. Maybe because I've always been afraid of the creepy Wendigo figures – well, I think it's a Wendigo. My 10-season experience with «Supernatural» agrees.

Release date in Swiss cinemas: 17 April 2020

Bonus: Star Wars – Journey to The Rise of Skywalker

Four decades. Three trilogies. Nine episodes. And every generation has its legend. Ours ends this week: «Star Wars – The Rise of Skywalker» hits cinemas on 18 December. All over the world. You'll get to read my spoiler-free review of the film the same morning.

Can’t wait? Check out Darth Porgs «Journey to The Rise of Skywalker». It’s a 26-minute summary of the entire Skywalker saga. Perfectly cut. Featuring John Williams music – yes, just yes! When Luke rebukes his former pupil Ben, I can't hold back my man tears and can't wait to see the end of the trilogy of trilogies in the cinema:

«Every word of what you just said is wrong. The Rebellion is reborn today. The war is just beginning. And I will not be the last Jedi.»

Goose bumps.

Release date in cinemas: 20 December 2019

I'm an outdoorsy guy and enjoy sports that push me to the limit – now that’s what I call comfort zone! But I'm also about curling up in an armchair with books about ugly intrigue and sinister kingkillers. Being an avid cinema-goer, I’ve been known to rave about film scores for hours on end. I’ve always wanted to say: «I am Groot.»
