Coffee machines and vacuum cleaners now run on the same black-and-red battery pack.
Once you've invested in the PXC battery system, the question arises whether switching to a stick vacuum is worth it, or if their tool expertise ends at the living room door. During the press event presenting their product variety, the TE-SV 18/270 Li BL-Solo stick vacuum in particular generated excitement. So, I am now putting it through a daily-use test. Einhell provided me with a unit for this product review.
Unpacking and assembly: straightforward, but with a catch
I like this: assembly is done in a few seconds. Insert the handle into the tube, attach the suction head, and you're done. No tools or instructions needed; everything clicks into place smoothly. During operation, I can swap the tube and suction head for one of the crevice nozzles or the mini brush for upholstery and similar surfaces.
Batteries and the charging station for them are not included. Both are annoying if I just want to do a quick vacuum.
Suction power: decent power with minor weaknesses
With 270 millibars of suction power and 100 airwatts, the Einhell is in a solid range for this price class. In the test, the vacuum usually made all coarse and fine dirt disappear from carpets on the first pass. On smooth hard floors, however, the rotating brush sometimes pushes larger particles like crumbs or rice grains in front of it before they are sucked up. Here, I occasionally need a second pass. In stubborn cases, I switch to the highest power level, and then the TE-SV 18/270 Li BL-Solo managed everything in my test.
A three-stage system ensures filtration: a cyclone separator first separates coarse dirt, while a pleated filter and a HEPA filter subsequently capture fine dust and allergens.
Bright and maneuverable into unexpected reaches
My highlight is the maneuverability. I can tilt the suction tube almost to the floor, and the suction head still lies flat on the surface. This opens up entirely new possibilities for reaching far under sofas, cabinets, and sideboards. This saves me from having to move furniture. The integrated spotlight LEDs on the brush also really come into their own here, ensuring the floor is illuminated even in dark corners.
Runtime and noise level: lots of light, some shadow
I had hoped for a bit more from the battery life. Of course, it depends on the selected level, but I don't want to be limited to Eco mode because of battery performance. There are three possible settings to choose from: Eco, Medium, and Boost. Initially, I chose Medium and saw only one of three bars left on the battery indicator after about 15 minutes. For comparison: premium models like the Dyson V16 Piston Animal manage around 50 minutes in automatic mode. For larger areas, I should definitely have a second battery ready if I want to finish in one go. This is where investing in the PXC system pays off, as I have multiple batteries in the house anyway.
The noise level is also in a comparable range; at 76 decibels in Medium mode and 86 decibels in Boost, it is not exactly quiet.
As for weight, it is in the standard range: 2.35 kilograms without the battery, and around 3 kilograms during operation, depending on the battery used.
Full power against (pet) hair
In a household with two cats, I am also interested in how the TE-SV 18/270 Li BL-Solo handles pet hair. And here it performs really well. The floor nozzle has an integrated comb that prevents my hair or the cats' hair from getting tangled in the brush. With the mini nozzle, I can also remove fur from textiles. After vacuuming, the collected human and animal hair can then be easily removed.

Despite some weaknesses, the Einhell TE-SV 18/270 Li BL-Solo also gets a lot right. Those who have already invested in the Einhell PXC battery system will find this to be a practical and affordable cordless stick vacuum. Those who do not yet own Einhell batteries must take this into account when considering the purchase price. Suction power, build quality, and features are solid. What stands out is the vacuum's great maneuverability, which makes it possible to vacuum far under furniture. Households with pets should appreciate the reliable hair removal and the easy cleaning of the brushes. It is impractical that the vacuum cleaner does not stand on its own and that the accessories cannot be attached to the vacuum to keep them within reach.
