M.2 format SSDs are becoming increasingly popular. The high transfer rates and extremely low access times allow for faster and more efficient work or gaming on a PC. To ensure that you can consistently utilize the full performance of the M.2 SSD, Alphacool offers the HDX PRO Air M.2 SSD cooler.

Why use an M.2 cooler? Due to their design, M.2 SSDs can only achieve their maximum performance for a short period. The controller chip heats up very quickly and soon begins to throttle the performance of the M.2 SSD to prevent overheating. Independent tests have shown that during write operations, the transfer rates of uncooled M.2 SSDs can drop after just 30 seconds. For read operations, throttling usually occurs a few seconds later. With the Alphacool HDX Pro Air M.2 SSD cooler, you can maintain the maximum performance of the SSD for a significantly longer period. This becomes noticeably beneficial during extended read and write operations.

How do I install the cooler? The HDX Pro Air M.2 cooler is compatible with M.2 SSDs that are single-sided or double-sided. You simply need to place the appropriate thermal pad on the lower cooling plate, then lay the M.2 SSD on top. Another thermal pad is then placed on the top side of the M.2 SSD, onto which the cooler is placed. To hold everything together, 4 clips are attached on each side, securing everything in place. The installation onto the motherboard is then done as usual.
