The defining feature of the current GLE 496.2 is the new aluminum-manganese high-frequency system. A combination of an elaborate wave guide, new diaphragm material, and a tailored crossover now enables a frequency response from 20 to 40,000 Hz, making it the best GLE of all time. It features a 3-way bass reflex design with two aluminum woofers and a large midrange driver with an aluminum cone. Equipped with sturdy polycarbonate baskets, a powerful magnetic drive, and the latest generation wave surround technology. Maximum power handling: 320 watts.

Cabinet
With dimensions of 21 x 106 x 31 cm, the weight of the new GLE 496.2 is 19.6 kg. The cabinet surface is available in black vinyl decor with a matte black painted front baffle, white vinyl decor with a matte white painted front baffle, and Makassar vinyl decor with a matte black painted front baffle. The black, acoustically neutral fabric cover can be removed and secured at the back of the cabinet.
