The Secure Board 1.0 is presented as an ergonomic keyboard with an integrated reader for smart cards and cards/tags with RF/NFC interface. For an additional gain in security and trust, the keyboard can be switched to a secure mode. In this mode, the device can prove its authenticity based on certificates, and the key transmission is encrypted. This way, hardware keyloggers have no chance, and by blocking the standard keyboard channel, "bad USB attacks" are no longer possible. It is particularly suitable for using these functions with thin clients that have the necessary software integrated.
