The DIGITUS USB-C Serial Adapter provides a practical solution for enabling serial connectivity. A serial RS485 interface is no longer available on newer hardware. The DIGITUS USB-C Serial Adapter allows data exchange between a USB-C port on a computer and peripheral devices with a serial interface (COM port, RS485), such as weather stations, sensors, machine controls, set-top boxes, gaming consoles, PDAs, scanners, modems, ISDN adapters, and many other peripherals. The USB 2.0 adapter is backward compatible with USB 1.1 and allows customizable baud rates between 75 bits and 128,000 bits per second. The individually configurable FTDI FT232RL+SP485 chipset ensures compatibility with all major operating systems. Additionally, power management and remote wake-up are supported. Power is supplied via the USB port, and a separate power supply is not required.
