A contactor is an electromagnetically operated remote switch for high electrical loads. It allows a larger current to be switched using a smaller current. They ensure galvanic isolation between the control circuit and the switched circuit. The HS series installation contactors are characterized by their long mechanical and electrical lifespan. Their magnetic coil is suitable for continuous operation. This low-noise version is ideal for use in industry and workshops.

Applications: Installation contactors are versatile. The low-noise version is suitable for industry and workshops, while the noise-free version is used in hotels, offices, and living areas. They are responsible for switching incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, transformers for low-voltage halogen lamps, high-pressure mercury vapor lamps, metal halide lamps, sodium vapor lamps, and storage heaters or drives.

Notes: The designation of the devices in this series includes both the rated current (first pair of numbers) and the contact configuration (last pair of numbers): For example, an HS 25-31 has a rated current of 25 A, three normally closed contacts, and one normally open contact. For ambient temperatures above 40 °C, the use of the spacer DHDS is recommended. The HS 1 contactors are 1 TE wide, while the HS 2 and HS 3 are 2 TE and 3 TE wide, respectively.
