The new video standard H.265, which is required for DVB-T2 reception in Germany and many other countries, is supported by the HDTV Dreambox. A state-of-the-art Broadcom chipset (BCM 73625) ensures fast channel switching times and smooth navigation. The DM525 comes with the popular RCU10 multi-remote control for Dreamboxes and playback devices such as TVs or Blu-ray players. The DM525 Combo surpasses the typical 256 MB of flash memory found in compact boxes with 512 MB, providing enough storage for innovative IP services. Several apps are already in development for this purpose. Additionally, the DM525 HD Combo also supports the Sat-IP standard. The Dreambox connects to the internet via the rear Ethernet port or optionally via Wi-Fi. The futuristic design of the DM525 HD Combo, featuring a colored status LED display, embodies the innovative spirit for which Dreamboxes are known worldwide. The front of the DM525 HD Combo includes a lit touch On/Off sensor. On the back, there are two USB ports, allowing users to restore the Dreambox themselves in the event of flash crashes without having to send it in.
