Product details
The Ducky One 3 mechanical gaming keyboard was developed to offer the best possible typing experience. It provides gamers and keyboard enthusiasts with a luxurious typing experience thanks to its high-quality finish and short response times. The switches are not soldered but mounted on sockets, making them easy to replace without any soldering. This variant features a 65 percent SF form factor. By omitting the numeric keypad, function keys, and some navigation keys, it occupies less space on the desk than a standard TKL keyboard, although it is less suitable for office applications. To save space, the arrow keys are also indented.
With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its QUACK Mechanics design philosophy, focusing on four key aspects that are crucial for the typing experience: the keycaps, the housing, the sound, and the stabilizers. All variants of the Ducky One 3 feature high-quality keycaps made of PBT. This semi-crystalline plastic is particularly popular with keyboard modders due to its resistance to abrasion. Ducky molds the keycaps from two layers of plastic, ensuring that the key lettering remains clearly legible. The keycaps do not develop the usual luster of other plastics caused by intensive use, keeping the keyboard looking new for a long time.
A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their clunkiness. The newly developed housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, combined with the three-stage feet, relieves wrist strain. To improve the sound and typing feel, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber compounds and selected the most suitable variant for the Q-Bounce pad. This is paired with an additional layer of EVA foam to effectively dampen resonances during typing and hard keystrokes.
