The 10-meter active USB 2.0 extension cable from Tripp Lite is a bus-powered extension cable that allows you to extend a device cable without experiencing signal loss or potential power issues. USB limits the cable length to 4.88 meters. Any length over 4.88 meters requires the use of an active cable like this one. This cable includes a built-in signal amplifier. The total cable length can be extended up to 39.92 meters by chaining up to 4 active cables together. The cable must be connected directly to a USB port (either on a PC or a hub). Standard USB cables with lengths of 1.83 meters, 3.05 meters, or 4.57 meters can be used to achieve the desired distance. The U026-10M supplies the connected device with up to 150 mA of power. If your device requires more than 150 mA, it must either have its own power supply or be connected to a powered USB 2.0 hub that is connected to the U026-10M.
