The Electrovoice EKX-12 is the passive version of the EKX-12P. Without an amplifier unit, the extensive DSP functions are naturally absent here. Therefore, this speaker is more suitable as an installation solution rather than for mobile use. The EKX-12 is an extremely robust, level-stable, and well-tuned speaker that should be more than sufficient for many live applications, with a maximum achievable sound pressure of 131 dB. When combined with the EKX-15S or EKX-18S subwoofers, it also creates a highly efficient, powerful PA system. Additionally, the angled cabinet design allows the Electrovoice EKX speakers to be used as stage monitors.
