The intelligent stepper motor interface iSMIF-USB is designed to connect the stepper motor control boards SMC800 / SMC1500 to a PC, as well as to control commercially available stepper motor drivers via the serial USB interface. The interface includes a microcontroller that directly generates the control signals for the SMC800 / SMC1500 stepper motor control boards, but it can also produce clock and direction signals for standard stepper motor drivers. The stepper motor interface is designed to be programmed with simple ASCII control commands. The control commands can be executed immediately or stored in the non-volatile memory. Up to 7 programs can be stored in the non-volatile memory. The program sequence can be controlled using the start, stop, and pause inputs.
