ESP LTD EC-401 See Thru Cherry Sunburst: Limited edition in See Thru Cherry Sunburst color. Scale length: 628 mm / 24.75 inches. Body: Mahogany. Pao-Ferro fretboard. Set neck made of mahogany. 3-piece. Fretboard radius: 350 mm. Neck shape: Thin-U. Frets: 24XJ Extra Jumbo. Nut width: 42 mm. Plastic. Low-noise, active EMG pickups. Bridge pickup: EMG 81. Neck pickup: EMG 60. 3-way switch. Grover tuners. Tune-o-matic bridge with stop tailpiece. 2 volume / 1 tone controls. Requires a 9V battery for operation. The LTD EC-401 clearly showcases its strengths in the rock and metal genres - the popular pickup configuration with the active EMG60 at the neck and EMG81 at the bridge provides plenty of punch. In this price range, the very good craftsmanship of the instrument stands out, complementing its stylish appearance and sleek feel. The mahogany body with a carved top and set mahogany neck is reminiscent of the classic Les Paul - the single-cut design allows for easy access to the higher frets. The EC-401 is lighter in weight, which is very beneficial for live performances. Additionally, the thinner neck with a Thin-U profile ensures easy playability, although it should be noted that the neck is finished. The neck with Pao-Ferro fretboard features 24 extra jumbo frets - the hardware includes Grover tuners that work precisely and ensure stable tuning. The excellent craftsmanship and strong pickup configuration make the EC-401 a high-quality, genre-appropriate instrument with a very good price-performance ratio and appealing aesthetics.
