The radio can be used to play Internet radio stations via WLAN. Alternatively, the radio can be used to control Sonos speakers. It is also possible to play music files via Bluetooth from a mobile device. The radio is operated using the capacitive buttons on the control panel. All you need to do is lightly touch the symbols.

Integration into the WLAN can be carried out very simply using the WPS function. In addition, commissioning can be conveniently carried out with the Gira System 3000 app via a mobile device. The app can also be used to make all other settings for the radio. Up to 20 favourite stations can be stored; the first three stations can be called up directly using the favourite buttons on the radio.

Other functions via the app include the selection of Internet radio or Sonos operating modes, the customised arrangement of display content, sound settings, weather forecast and alarm function. The radio can be switched on with a light switch or motion detector together with the room lighting via the 230 V extension unit input, for example. The radio is compactly housed in a flush-mounted insert and can therefore be installed in a single appliance box.

The loudspeaker can be combined with the radio or installed separately in an appliance box. Two loudspeakers can be connected to the radio insert. The radio can operate in mono and stereo mode. In sleep mode, the radio switches off automatically 30 minutes after being switched on. The radio can also be used as an alarm clock. In combination with other electronic devices under a common cover, reception may be impaired.
