These printers use dynamic security measures to block print cartridges with a chip or electronic circuit that is not from HP. Regular firmware updates maintain the effectiveness of these measures and may block cartridges that previously worked. Reused HP chips and electronic circuits from HP allow the use of reused, refurbished, and refilled print cartridges.
