The HP IP Console Switch G2 with Virtual Media and Common Access Card (CAC) is a central component for managing heterogeneous data centers. In combination with the IP Console Viewer software, this switch enables remote access to multiple servers running various operating systems. With the Virtual Media functionality, a removable drive or ISO image can be remotely mapped to a connected server in a data center or branch office to perform software installations and upgrades. An intuitive user interface for the local console provides menus for configuration, virtual media, display, and even security and upgrades from the local console. The interface corresponds to the On Board Web Interface (OBWI) used for remote management. CAC stands for Common Access Card, also referred to as a Smart Card.
