The HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10 Controller is a RAID controller suitable for large enterprises, offering enhanced performance for messaging, database, or general server applications. When connected to internal storage units with 12 Gb/s, it enables SAS connections at 12 Gb/s on HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers.

It boosts performance with a 2 GB Flash-backed Write Cache, reducing latency for write-intensive applications that require extensive logging, such as databases.

The controller enhances performance in storage environments where data is frequently read from a large number of Solid State Drives. It utilizes HPE SSD Smart Path to create a faster I/O path between the controller and the Solid State Drive.

With HPE Smart Array SR SmartCache (optional license), you can accelerate data access in disk environments by moving active data into cache storage on Solid State Drives.
