Icron's latest USB extender, the Ranger 2301GE-LAN, extends USB 2.0 and 1.1 peripherals such as mice, keyboards, flash drives, interactive whiteboards, and isochronous devices (e.g., webcams and audio devices) over a Gigabit Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN). Additionally, the Ranger 2301GE-LAN can extend up to 100 m/330 ft via a point-to-point connection. The Ranger 2301GE-LAN USB extender features ExtremeUSB technology, providing true plug-and-play functionality and compatibility with all major operating systems (Mac OSX, Windows, Linux). Although the Ranger 2301GE-LAN has only one USB port, it can support more than 10 USB devices or hubs over LAN thanks to its Local Area Network functionality. Icron has updated the firmware and hardware of the Ranger 2301GE-LAN, featuring a new ASIC-based design and an internal USB hub that has transitioned from Microchip to Cypress. Furthermore, the advanced design of the Ranger allows for secure mounting at both local and remote extenders.
