The massive aluminum heatsink with nine 0.5 mm thick cooling fins and two copper heat pipes ensures maximum thermal conductivity. The heat pipes are in direct contact with the M.2 SSD through the thermal pads, allowing for quick and efficient heat dissipation. Thanks to the combination of heat pipe, solid aluminum heatsink, and fan, the IB-M2HSF-702 can achieve a reduction in M.2 SSD temperature of up to 50%. A thermal pad serves a similar purpose to thermal paste in improving the dissipation of waste heat from electronic components, significantly contributing to heat dissipation. These pads are particularly easy to install and remove.
