The ICY BOX IB-RD3620 is a dual RAID system designed for fast working with large amounts of data. Up to two SATA hard disks can be installed in the high-quality aluminium housing without tools.
The fast connections (eSATA, USB 3.0) ensure high performance on PCs and MACs, e. g. for video editing or music editing.
Thanks to the temperature-controlled fan, the IB-RD3620 operates quietly and provides an optimal environment for the valuable data.
The model also has a synchronized standby mode and is therefore very energy-saving.

RAID Definitions for the IB-RD3620SU3
JBOD (RAID 0 Spanning) Spanning connects multiple drives to a large virtual drive, bypassing the physical limitation of individually attached disks.
The data is continuously written from HDD1 to HDD2.
JBOD (Single) Configuration of a RAID controller with multiple disks that do not form a group.
This means that the connected hard disks are made available to the operating system individually.
RAID 0 (RAID 0 Striping) Striping connects multiple drives to a large virtual drive as a logical unit. The data is written to all hard disks in parallel, which leads to an increase in the data transfer rate.
However, if a hard disk fails, all data is lost.
RAID 1 (RAID1 Mirroring) Mirroring is the automatic mirroring of data on several hard disks. This ensures a high level of data security. If a hard disk fails, access is still possible and after the defective hard disk has been replaced, the data mirror is restored.
The usable memory corresponds to the smallest hard disk.
