The TU104 graphics chip of the RTX 2080 Super is based on the Turing architecture, is manufactured in the 12 nm FinFET process and is responsible for the speed boost compared to the 10-series alongside the GDDR6 graphics memory. The ray tracing technology used ensures particularly realistic light and shadow effects, which is also the reason for the name change to GeForce RTX.
