These PCI brackets with ventilation holes enhance passive thermal properties and improve airflow at the back. The standard size of the brackets allows for use in any case.

One might wonder why expansion slots should even be covered with brackets, as the best ventilation is achieved by leaving them completely open. That is true! However, factory-installed slot brackets serve another purpose: they ensure optimal shielding against EMI emissions, which, if they escape, could affect nearby devices and disrupt their functionality.
