Mit dem lichtstarken 35er liefert Leica die Normalbrennweite für die CL - allerdings kostet es auch 2150 Euro. Bereits bei f1,4 ist die Auflösung in der Bildmitte hoch, der Kontrast punktet aber f2,8. Auch der Randabfall ist erst abgeblendet im Griff. So ist Blende 1,4 eine Option für Porträts, aber abgeblendet auch das Bildfeld gut durchgezeichnet - empfohlen.
