Not to be confused with a standard 3-segment 3.5 mm audio stereo plug. This adapter is designed for use with laptops, camcorders, and other compact devices that have a 4-pole 3.5 mm video and audio stereo socket.

This adapter will only work if the device supports TV output through the 3.5 mm 4-segment socket. Different manufacturers use different pin configurations. For example, Samsung's pin configurations are exactly reversed compared to Nokia's. Unfortunately, due to the variety of models, a compatibility list cannot be provided.
