The Meinl Sonic Energy 10-inch (25 cm) Medium Steel Tongue Drum is made from high-quality powder-coated stainless steel and is adorned with a decorative linen nylon cord. The 8 sound fields produce tones in two octaves. The steel drum is suitable for all age groups and is easy for beginners to learn. The instrument can be placed on a flat surface using the rubber feet or comfortably played in your lap.

The chosen scale determines the ambiance created while playing. Minor scales are often associated with emotions such as tragic, mystical, contemplative, dreamy, and hopeful, while major scales are considered bright, clear, and cheerful. A silicone plug on the underside can close the resonance hole to create an even more compact sound. With the resonance hole open, a particularly long-lasting sustain is achieved.
