RDIMM memory is recommended when large memory capacities are required. The different memory technologies (ECC/RDIMM) should not be mixed. If a memory upgrade is to be made with the existing RAM, it must be checked which memory technology (ECC/RDIMM) is currently in use. A higher memory clock speed of the memory module will automatically adjust to the clock speed set by the system. This can especially be the case with larger capacities. Memory slots without a processor present should not be populated.
